One of my favourite things is to photograph a family in their own surroundings, where they feel most comfortable. This is where the magic happens, as it’s so easy for them to forget that the camera is there at all. Children and parents alike just focus on each other and get on with what they would be doing if I wasn’t there – playing together, laughing together, getting ready for the day, having messy snacks. Every moment of your day is amazing, and photograph worthy, because one day it will all be different and you will long to get these moments back. Somerset Family Photography.

I had a shoot in Frome last year with an amazingly wonderful family, who felt like long-lost friends right away. They had just welcomed their third child into the family and they wanted some images to remember this time, with three small people, one particularly new. We had fun simply hanging around in their home, chatting about the new baby, had a little potter into their garden to eat carrots (!) and then back inside again to play with magic wands and pick ice off of the freezer drawers and eat it (a favourite hobby apparently). I was able to capture some beautiful moments with the family – the baby, her siblings,  as well as the family cats.  The joy and love in the family was just wonderful to be part of. Here are a few of my favourites below.
