I am Rose Dedman, Rosie, or “Mummy!”, depending on who is trying to grab my attention. I have 3 young children, 2 cheeky cats and 1 very patient husband of 12 years and we all live near Bath.
As a Mummy, and a photographer, I love to capture the natural moments that reflect real life: the affection, the chaos, the perfectly imperfect every day. I love how a photograph can mean so much, and freeze a moment in time forever.
Having loved playing with a camera my whole life, I went “professional” in 2017, after a 12 year marketing career. Highlights of my training include mentorship by Gillian Devine (Photography Success Mentor) and Alice Chapman (UK’s Top Family Documentary Photographer of the Year 2017, 2018 & 2019).
I believe that the most beautiful images are created the moment you forget I am there. This is when the spontaneity happens – the unplanned, not-looking-at-the-camera kind of moments. I also love to record the precious little details, the in-between shots: their hand in yours, the sneaky kiss, the cat looking grumpy in the corner. Things you don’t necessarily think to photograph, but which you will love to look back on in years to come.
If you would like to know anything further about how I work, or you would like to make a booking, feel free to get in touch for an informal chat, I would love to hear from you.
