Guildhall Bath Wedding Photos

Mandy and Chris’ Guildhall Bath Wedding followed by celebrations at The Royal Crescent Hotel.

Mandy and Chris’ Guildhall Bath wedding was a lovely, intimate (if somewhat chilly, being in January) affair. They’ve been together for over 20 years but had decided to tie the knot before they go off travelling together away from their two grown up daughters. They were keen to state that their marriage was not just because of the tax benefits highlighted when they met with a Will writer a couple of months previously, even the officiant of the ceremony emphasised this during the ceremony, with a glint in her eye. It was obvious that Chris and Mandy were still very much in love and this made for a really lovely day, with lots of special touches and a small circle of close family as guests.

When I work with a couple I want them to remember their wedding day for all the love, emotions and the special time spent with their family and friends. I don’t want them to remember it for hours of awkward posing. I look for candid moments, the little stories and the key points of the day, to put together a beautiful sequence of storytelling images in their gallery which take them back to how it felt to be there on the day, every time they revisit them. When Mandy asked me to work with them she said that none of the family enjoy having their photographs taken – this works perfectly with my documentary wedding photography style which allows the photographer to be like a fly-on-the-wall and the wedding couple and guests to forget the photographer is even there.

Off to The Royal Crescent Hotel

After a wander around Bath city centre and the beautiful sights we headed up to the venue for the rest of the day – The Royal Crescent Hotel – for a relaxed afternoon of canapés, amusing speeches and a sit down meal in a private room just for the family.
