Minerva Vines Wedding Photographer in Bath

Beautifully Candid Wedding Photography at Minerva Vines
Set among the rolling countryside just outside Bath, Minerva Vines is an exciting new vineyard wedding venue offering couples a beautiful setting to celebrate with family and friends. If you are planning a wedding here and are looking for photography that captures the atmosphere, emotion and natural rhythm of the day, you are in the right place.
I’m Rose, a documentary wedding photographer based near Bath. My approach is calm and unobtrusive, allowing you to be fully present with the people you love while the story of your wedding day is quietly captured. The result is a collection of photographs that reflect not only how your wedding looked but how it felt to be there. Many of the couples who book me tell me they felt a little nervous about being photographed at first. My calm approach means you don’t need to perform for the camera. Instead, you can focus on enjoying your day while the real moments unfold naturally.
A New Vineyard Wedding Venue Near Bath
Minerva Vines is one of the newest wedding venues in the Bath area, opening its doors to couples for the first time this year. Set within a working vineyard and surrounded by the Somerset countryside, the venue offers a distinctive setting for weddings close to Bath. The elegant Orangery, rows of vines and far-reaching countryside views provide a beautiful backdrop for celebrations. The sense of space makes it particularly special. Guests can gather outdoors overlooking the vineyard while the changing light throughout the day creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. As the venue begins welcoming couples, I have no doubt it will become one of Somerset’s most sought-after vineyard wedding venues.
Planning Your Wedding Photography at Minerva Vines
One of the things I always encourage couples to think about is allowing enough time in their wedding timeline for photographs without feeling rushed. The beauty of Minerva Vines is that everything is in one place, making it easy to move between different locations while still spending plenty of time celebrating with your guests.
For family photographs, I recommend allowing around 5 to 10 minutes for each group combination. It often takes a little longer than expected to gather everyone together, especially when guests have wandered off to the bar, the toilets or are chatting with family members. Building enough time into your schedule means everything feels calm and relaxed.
For your couple photographs, around 15 to 20 minutes is usually ideal. We can spend a short amount of time exploring the vineyard after your ceremony, then, if the weather and light are right, slip outside for another 10 minutes during golden hour. This gives you a wonderful variety of photographs without taking you away from your guests for long.

My Favourite Photograph Locations at Minerva Vines
Although Minerva Vines is still a relatively new wedding venue, one of the things I loved whilst photographing here was the variety of beautiful backdrops available within such a compact space.
Some of my favourite locations include:
- Walking between the vineyard rows.
- The Orangery, with its beautiful natural light.
- The terrace overlooking the vineyard and Somerset countryside.
- The surrounding countryside for wider landscape photographs that really capture the feeling of the venue.
Because everything is so close together, we can create a lovely variety of images without spending lots of time walking between locations.
What I Love About Minerva Vines
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a styled shoot at Minerva Vines and it gave me the chance to explore the venue, discover its best photograph locations and see how the light changes throughout the day.
What struck me most was the atmosphere. Despite being just 16 minutes from my home near Bath, it feels wonderfully peaceful, with uninterrupted views across the Somerset countryside. Combined with the vineyard, it creates an almost Mediterranean feel that makes it unlike anywhere else nearby.
I’d genuinely love the opportunity to photograph one of the first real weddings here.
Minerva Vines Through the Seasons
One of the lovely things about vineyard weddings is how much the scenery changes throughout the year.
Spring brings fresh green growth and blossom.
Summer offers long evenings, warm light and the vineyard at its fullest.
Autumn transforms the vineyard into rich golden tones, creating a beautiful backdrop for photographs.
Whatever time of year you choose, the surrounding countryside provides a stunning setting for timeless wedding photographs.
Why Vineyard Weddings Are So Special
Vineyard weddings have become increasingly popular in recent years, particularly for couples looking for a setting that feels relaxed, elegant and closely connected to nature.
The rows of vines create beautiful structure within the landscape while the surrounding countryside offers expansive views. Together they provide a wonderful setting for both natural documentary moments and relaxed couple portraits.
Rather than spending long periods away from your guests taking posed photographs, we can simply take a gentle walk among the vines before returning to the celebrations. It creates a beautiful balance between enjoying your wedding day and creating meaningful photographs you’ll treasure for years to come.

My style of photography is rooted in observation. Rather than directing the day, I quietly document what naturally unfolds. The result is natural, emotive storytelling with an editorial edge, shaped by an instinct for light, composition and timing.
The anticipation before the ceremony.
Friends greeting each other with excitement.
Parents watching with pride.
The laughter during speeches.
The energy that fills the dance floor as evening arrives.
These are often the moments that become more meaningful with time.
Alongside these natural moments we’ll also spend a little time creating relaxed portraits around the vineyard that feel effortless and timeless.
