Beach Wedding Photography
Millie and Dave’s wedding near the beach
It’s nearly a year since this beautiful wedding of Millie and Dave by the beach in Tintagel. It was a summer solstice wedding and the weather couldn’t have been better. We could see the sea from the end of the garden and after the ceremony we went down to the nearby beach for a walk and some photos. The tide was up so we got some spectacular shots surrounded by waves.
Rather than a traditional ceremony, Millie and Dave opted for a hand fasting officiated by a friend, which made it very personal and special. They had had their official wedding ceremony a couple of months before and today was all about celebrating with family and friends.
The relationships, friendship and special touches were evident throughout the day – with beautiful flowers tied together by the Mother-of-the-bride, hair and makeup done by the bridesmaids, bracelets given by the bride to her sons as a message of love, live wedding music by the groom and his friend, hand made bunting with personal messages on the triangles and the ceremony also officiated by a dear friend. It felt like such a lovely, down-to-earth, genuine day: full of love. One of my favourite types of days.

Handfasting
A beautiful finale to the ceremony, the handfasting was carried out by a good friend of Millie and Dave and finalised the process of officially “tying” this couple together, which was started by their wedding ceremony a couple of months previously.

Millie and Dave’s Beach Wedding Photography
After some post-ceremony celebrations it was time to head off to the beach for a short time of couple portraits. When we got there and after we’d taken a few photos, an amazing thing happened – a local couple who just happened to be on the beach with a guitar offered to play a first dance song for Millie and Dave and they danced right there on the beach! It was very romantic and a wonderful, spontaneous, very fitting moment in the day. Something to remember forever.

Back for the wedding breakfast
It was then time to return to the rest of the guests and continue celebrations, silly moments and delicious food into the evening.
