Priston Mill Wedding Photographer

A beautifully sunny day as a Priston Mill Wedding Photographer.

It was August 2019, when I ventured into wedding photography at Jilly and Jack’s wedding as a Priston Mill Wedding Photographer.  I was thrilled to be asked and really enjoyed their beautiful day.

Starting with groom preparations at their home in Bristol we had lots of fun and banter whilst I got informal shots of the boys getting ready. I then went across to Priston Mill to capture the arrival of the guests, the groom and groomsmen before the wedding ceremony. Jilly then arrived in a beautiful white wedding car and they had a really special ceremony in Priston Mill’s Tythe Barn with their family and friends.

With the official ceremony complete, Jilly and Jack’s family and friends formed a corridor in the beautiful grounds of Priston Mill’s Tythe Barn, for the newly married couple to walk through whilst confetti was thrown – one of my favourite wedding traditions. We then captured a few group shots and couple portraits whilst everyone relaxed and enjoyed some canapés. Once the small section of formal shots was done, it was time to relax allowing more time to do what I love the most: document the special, in between moments, lots of little details: hats, drinks, the flower girls and page boy playing hide and seek, the Dad’s having a moment outside, the hugs, the love and celebrations.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast and some fabulous speeches, followed in the evening by some fantastic entertainment in the form of cabaret dancing by the Flaming Feathers, a fantastic dance troupe of which the bride is a member, along with many of the guests.

Priston Mill is a stunning Somerset wedding venue, set in a valley in the Duchy of Cornwall’s Newton Park estate near Bath. With both the The Barn and the Watermill to choose from it offers plenty of beautiful scenery for photographs. In fact my own wedding reception was in the Watermill at Priston Mill in 2008. A while ago now!

And I only live 10 minutes from the venue so win win in all respects!

Since this wedding at Priston Mill in August 2019, I’ve been so fortunate to work with many couples and capture so many wonderful memories of amazingly precious, emotional days. It’s become a passion of mine, to create beautifully real wedding stories, capturing the big moments, the in-between moments and the many emotions and feelings of the day, to help clients to remember, to hold close, to freeze time and look back.
